Welcome to the CHMAS Training Blog
CHMAS Training is based in Shropshire and was set up to allow others to gain the confidence, skills and knowledge to go off and have an adventure and make their own lasting memories. I have always enjoyed having adventures, initially through the Scouts and then with friends and family. Through these adventures, I’ve manged to gain a few qualifications and some of these are listed below.
- Accredited Practitioner of Outdoor Learning (APIOL)
- Local Cave & Mine Leader
- BCU L3 Canoe & Kayak Coach
- Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI)
- International Mountain Leader Award (IML)
- Winter Mountain Leader Award (WML)
- Rescue Emergency Care (REC) First Aid Trainer
Although not a qualification, I am an approved Mountain Training Cymru (MTC) Course Provider able to offer National Governing Body Awards and Skill Courses. I also hold an Adventurous Activity Licence and I am an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the DofE Expedition Section.
I belong to The British Association of International Mountain Leader (BAIML) and the Mountain Training Association (MTA) both of which require me to complete a number of Professional Development days.
