Instructing For Arthog Outreach

The group deciding on the way forward

This week’s work for Arthog Outreach has seen me running canoeing and caving sessions and an interesting week it was too.

Canoeing at Simpsons Pool
A pretty challenging day out in rafted canoes at Simpsons Pool. We played lots of games, raced each other and a little bit of exploring to shrieks of laughter as the teams got to grips with manoeuvring the canoes eventually! To liven things up after lunch we played a game of fruit salad, stand up paddling and Harry Potter. Thankfully, this week I wasn’t marooned on a ledge which was just as well with the groups canoeing skills.

Caving at Ogof Llanymynech
Its been a while since I visited the cave and it was nice to be going back underground. the group were a little apprehensive at first but with a few stories about the cave, information on how it was formed they soon overcame their fear and were keen to go on explore the Fiveways Chamber and face the puddle of truth. Most of the group were keen to do more so a job well done in my opinion.

If you would like CHMAS to provide this type of activity for you and your group then please take a look at our Group Activity Page to find out more.
