Chris Hughes Multi Activity Services (CHMAS) is now affiliated through the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to provide Heartstart Courses. These courses are provided free of charge and teach you simple emergency life saving (ELS) skills that could save the life of a loved one.
Heartstart schemes are run independently of the BHF through providers like me and provide practical and hands on training to:
- Assess an unconscious patient (DRS ABC);
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
- Deal with choking;
- Treat serious bleeding; and
- Help someone that may be having a heart attack.
Knowing what to do when someone has a cardiac arrest is important. If you can do CPR you can buy the time needed for professional help to arrive and save the life of your loved one. Being able to do CPR more than doubles the chance of survival.
To date more than 2.6 million people have been trained through Heartstart and it is very easy to attend a course and join them.
Heartstart CHMAS offers ELS courses that are open to the general public throughout Shropshire. These typically last for three hours and provide practical hands on learning that could save someone’s live. To make sure you don’t get lost in the crowd our courses are usually limited to six participants.
Please contact Chris by telephone – 07974 458969 or by email – firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange your course.
