Today, I was running the second National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) session for my good friends at Arthog Outreach. Our venue for the day was the Shropshire Climbing Centre, which is predominantly a bouldering venue. Our last session, was efficient movements and thankfully much of what they had learnt last week had been retained, which meant we could look at ‘twisting’, ‘straight arms’, and ‘flagging’ which are useful techniques to use on steep climbs.
After lunch, we took the opportunity to to do some top roped climbing and despite moaning about tired arms and fingers the difference in their climbing was once again impressive.
