LCMLA Module 1 – Personal Skills Passed

Fossil in Giants Hole

I did my Level 1 Cave & Mine Leader Training in January 2013 with Adam Evans which I found really enjoyable and informative (to see the blog post – click here). Now two years on and with some 60 plus trips under my belt, I decided to attend the Module 1 – Personal Skills Assessment.

I asked around for recommendations for an assessor and the name Daryl Godfrey came up quite a few times so I booked the assessment with him and what a thoroughly great time I had too. Our venues for the where Giants Hole and Nicklegroove Mine where I was asked to perform certain tasks and talk about the unique environments that we where in. What I particularly liked about the assessment was Daryl’s relaxed style and keenness to develop my skills further and add to my knowledge about the cave / mine environments.

Well, I’m pleased to say that I passed the assessment and I am now looking at providers to complete the group day – Module 2.

In my mind, if you are looking for a Module 1 Assessment then I would highly recommend Daryl as it was one of the most relaxed assessments that I have been on.
