Instructing For Arthog Outreach

On the way to the summit

The New Year kicked off with Arthog Outreach in the form of a themed walk. The Year 6’s were looking at habitats and explorers, which in this case was Scott of the Antarctic. Over the course of the day we looked at navigation systems, maps and compass and the more modern GPS. This meant that the young people were able take charge of the route finding and we didn’t get lost once!

As we explored we found a cave and explored it using candles and a disused woodland shelter where we ate lunch. After that it was time to get to our scheduled kit drop off aka the minibus. A lovely day out with some fantastic young people.

If you would like CHMAS to provide this type of activity for your group then please do get in touch.
