Foundation Safety & Rescue Training

Practicing with throwlines

Last weekend, I was working for ProAdventure running assisting with the provision of a Foundation Safety & Rescue Training (FSRT) course, which is one of the pre-requirements for anyone wishing to become a Level 1 Coach.

Over the course of the day we looked at risk assessments, personal safety (equipment & boats),  rescue protocols, bank based rescues, boat based rescues (canoe & kayak) and dealt with a few scenarios. I’m pleased to say that everyone successfully completed the course and I would like to wish them every success in their paddling careers wherever that may take them.

If you would like this type of course for your club or group of friends then please take a look at out main site to find out more by clicking here.
