First Cave Trip as Leader for Arthog Outeach

Best day ever

On Thursday, I was leading a cave trip to Llanymynech for my friends at Arthog Outreach for a Year 3 Group. Well, I’m pleased to sat the trip went very well with most of the group completing the whole trip including a visit to the Fiveways Chamber & Passages.

Along the way, we chatted about how caves were formed, the history of the Cave and how I got into caving (the story of my mentor Al) and the roman coins that were found in the cave. As we passed thtough the cave, I was very impressed by how inquisitieve the group became spotting spiders asking about flow stone, pointing out algae and poking around in little nooks and crannies.

All to soon it was time to leave and I was particularly chuffed when on of the group said to me it was the best day ever and he wanted to do more caving!
