Climbing Wall Assessment

Having held my climbing Single Pitch Award (SPA) since 1997, I decided about 18 months back to complete my Climbing Wall Award (CWA). My rationale for this, was I wanted to update my movement skills coaching and the CWA has this module as an integral part of the course.

I completed the training with Plas Y Brenin but opted to undertake the assessment with an independent provider, who in this case was Joby Maw Davis. Well I’m pleased to say I passed the assessment including the Abseil Module and I’m looking forward to pushing the boat out to collect the required number of 6A routes so that I can complete the Climbing Wall Leader Award (CWLA).

If you would like to find out more about the CWA scheme then further information can be found on the MLTUK website. To go to the MLTUK website click here.

If you were thinking of CWA assessment then I would strongly recommend one run by Joby as his relaxed manner and clear briefing makes the whole assessment a more enjoyable experience. To find out more about CWA courses run by Joby then please click here.
