On Monday, I was running a river trip for a group of instructors from Condover Hall as part of their on going personal development. Our venue for the day was the River Severn paddling between Buildwas and Jackfield Rapids (Grade 2). My intention was to use the flatter sections for a skills clinic and then finish off with an intro white water session at Jackfield Rapids.
Once on the water, the plan was modified as the team proved to be quite proficient paddlers and after a bit of fine tuning of the fundamental skills we made progress to the rapids to devote more time to the white water skills. The team run the rapids many times, each time looking to make more eddies than the last some even using checking and setting to get the smaller eddies.
I had a thoroughly great day on the water and to see a few pictures of the day please click here. If you would like CHMAS to provide a white water skills session for you and your friends then please take a look at our canoeing page by clicking here.
