Sometimes, things just don’t go as planned and alternative plans have to be drawn up. This was certainly the case with this excellent trip. The original plan to paddle on the River Severn needed a change of venue due to high water levels. After a little deliberation we opted to canoe on the Llangollen Canal.
We set off from the Bryn Howell Hotel and paddled our way to Chirk. Its an impressive trip with two aqueducts and two tunnels to spice up the journey. Along the way the group learnt how to steer the canoe, portage and line the boats. The trip ended with a celebratory hot chocolate with everyone proud of their achievements.
