Canoeing on Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake)

Let the journey commence

Let the journey commence

Last Sunday, I was working for my friends at Proactive Adventure providing an introductory canoe session on Llyn Tegid for a group of college students. The boats were quickly unloaded and we were soon on the water to get used to the boats and pick up some of the fundamental canoe strokes. Unfortunately, the weather gods were less than kind and the wind picked up during which made things a little interesting but the group coped quite well with the conditions.

Once the fundamental skills were in place it was time for a bit of exploration and we made our way across the lake (instead of heading up due to the weather conditions). Some of the group found this hard but we soon all across and into a sheltered bay. Here a few games were played and a mass water fight broke which was enjoyed by all. Our return journey was much easier as we were blown across by the wind and a good time was had by all.

If you would like CHMAS to provide this type of trip for you and your group then please take a look at our main site to find out more by clicking here. We look forward to hearing from you.
