On Thursday, I was was working for my friends at Gateway Outdoor, leading a canoeing session on the Llangollen Canal. Unfortunately, due to transportation issues, the group arrived later than expected and I had to modify the session to reflect the reduced session time.
I met with the group at Froncysyllte where we quickly unloaded the boats and out them on the water for a bit of craft familiarisation, before heading off to cross the aqueduct which was built by Thomas Telford in 1805. After a quick chat about the history of the Llangollen Branch Canal and it was time to cross the aqueduct for the second time and make our way back to Froncysyllte.
Despite the short session the lads had a great time and I was really impressed how quickly they picked up the basic canoe handling skills.
