Another Week at Arthog Outreach

Fungi - just one of the many varieties we found

Fungi – just one of the many varieties we found

Last week, I had three lovely days working for my friends at Arthog Outreach taking groups on a woodland walk, indoor climbing and team building activities.

Woodland Walk (Year 4)
A lovely walk from the centre in Shortwoods looking at various habitats (urban – agricultural & woodland). Along the way we stopped to identify various fungi, followed deer tracks, made a little fire and took a quick look at some disused Lime Kilns

Team Building (Year 3 & 4)
A split day of team building and team challenges with the highlight being the climbing traverse challenge.

Indoor Climbing & Team Building (Year 4)
It never ceases to amaze me of the personal responsibility taken by such a young age group when actively being involved in the belaying of their peers. Many of the group got to the top but I was more impressed by how hard everyone tried to go a little higher on their next go.

Another lovely week working with some great kids and staff – long may it continue.
