Another good week working for Arthog Outreach where I was leading environmental, canoeing and team building sessions.
As a continuation of the ‘Theatre Theme, we ventured outdoors to look at fire lighting, which proved to be a very popular activity. The young people were given time to collect their materials and then they had to keep the fire going for a minimum of 5 minutes, which all the teams achieved with ease. Then, they had to design a poster to show others how the lit their fire and we had some mighty fine ones indeed.
Canoeing At Simpsons Pool
A low ability group for the canoeing at Simpsons pool so we had to take things slowly. The group worked well to load and unload the canoes and there was lots of laughter and smiley faces as the session progressed. No one wanted the session to finish so a job well done in my opinion.
Team Building Sessions
For my morning group we continued with the climbing theme, encouraging the young ones to put on the safety equipment and to better their effort last week. All impressed with their team working and effort they put into their climbing.
My afternoon group, continued with their John Muir Award and we decided to explore the local woods with a bit of orienteering and I pleased to say that no one managed to get lost (well at least for not too long) and they were all pleased with their achievements.
