As stated in an early post, I often work freelance for other companies and organisations to ensure a good order book. It is now also becoming increasingly common to attend an induction day for the company or organisation. As result, I was asked to attend an induction for Arthog Outreach in Telford.
After quick introductions, I was assigned my mentor for the day, Jim who I had introduced to canoeing some years ago through Shrewsbury Canoe Club. Soon it was time to hop in the minibus and pick up our charges from a local school to take them canoeing for the day at Simpsons Pool.
However, before I could be let loose on the water, I was asked to spend some time acquainting myself with the risk assessments and operating procedures. With this task complete, it was off to Simpsons pool to join Jim for the remainder of the canoe session.
I had a great day and I look forward to working with Al and the team at Arthog Outreach in the future.
