Another Week At Arthog Outreach

Rescuing the Captain……..

Working for Arthog Outreach is always fun and this week was no difference! I took a group of Year 3’s canoeing and was part of a team providing on onsite activity day for  a Group of Year 6’s.

Canoeing at Simpsons Pool With Year 3’s
A pretty special day out in rafted canoes at Simpsons Pool. We played lots of games, raced each other and a little bit of exploring to shrieks of laughter as the teams got to grips with manoeuvring the canoes. To liven things up after lunch we played a game of pirates and again my group decided to leave me marooned on a ledge! Thankfully, another group came and recued me.

Onsite Team Building Day
I was working with our very own Al Braybrooke providing an onsite activity day for a group of Year 6 students. The morning was split between the climbing tower and orienteering and I was responsible for running the orienteering. The group struggled a little at first but with a bit of retraining and focussing there were soon whoops of delight as they completed the course. As expected, the climbing was well received and I was particularly impressed by how the teams got stuck into the team challenges and applied the Plan – Do – Review cycle to improve their performance.

If you would like CHMAS to provide this type of activity for you and your group then please take a look at our Group Programmes page to find out more.
