It’s hard to believe that 2016 is almost over and my final week for Arthog Outreach turned out to be a fitting end to a cracking year of fun and adventure.
Environmental Education Session
It being the final week of the winter term, I opted for a distinctly festive theme for the session so we made Christmas Cards and Christmas Tree Decoration and much fun was had by all as they got stuck into the activities.
Team Building Day
This team building day was an end of term treat for a Group of Year 7 students and after discussion, I delivered an indoor climbing session and a bushcraft session. The indoor climbing session went and it was great to see the young people encouraging each other to climb as high as they dared. The afternoon bushcraft session was well received and we looked at various ways to light a fire (spark, electrical & chemical). The group then used these skills to build and light a fire to toast marshmallows and make smalls.
The end of session review around the fire was particularly informative and I was pleased that the group recognised how well they had worked together, supported each other and had a whole lot of fun. Well, that’s what they told me.
